F.A.Q

Q: I am not a member of The Hollandse Club, The Swiss Club or Singapore Island Country Club. Will I still be able to join any of the programmes with aquaDucks™?

A: Certainly. The programme at Science Park, Suntec City or Tanglin Village is open to members of the public. There is definitely something available for everyone.

Q: Why do you start lessons at 6 months?

A: At 6 months of age, babies are generally very receptive, have no fears and as long as they feel loved and respected, babies at this age will adapt very quickly to an aquatic environment. We recommend babies under 6 months to have their water sessions at home in the shower or bathtub. There is no need to bring them to the pool so soon, very young babies need lots of quality time with Mum and Dad to lay a strong foundation for future pool sessions.

Q: How can accelerate my child’s learning process?

A: A warm loving and responsive approach is essential for building self esteem which will build a strong foundation for positive learning. Encourage safe exploration and play. Repetition is the mother of skill, the more your child goes to the pool, the faster he or she will learn.

Q: How long will it take before my child can learn to swim? Why is it that other children are able to swim while my child is still learning?

A: It is best not to compare you child to another, as each child is unique. Some children will learn to walk in 9 months while others in 15 months, the end result is still the same.
Often improvement in skills on land will be parallel with skill improvement in the water. More frequent swims will definitely speed up the learning process.
