Swimming Programmes

aquaDucks | Swimming Programmes - Introduction

Our Swimming Programmes

The aquaDucks unique swimming programmes is specially designed for infants and pre-schoolers in Singapore. It is a blend of the best European, USA and Australian teaching techniques and is further streamlined to the specific needs of the Singaporean weather conditions and environment.

Goal Of Programme

Water safety comes first in each of our swimming programmes. We find it important that children learn from a very young age to be independent in and to respect water. Therefore, we do not use any flotation devices (ie. arm bands, rubber rings) during the lessons. We teach our students to float independently under the supervision of an adult and an expert swim coach. Progression is made at the child’s pace to ensure every class is enjoyable, fun and to make students feel safe and confident.

Learning Through Play

Play is paramount to a young child and is part and parcel of their learning process. Children, while playing, are unaware of the skills they are developing and achieving in the aquatic environment. All of our classes are entertaining and fun while our coaches ensure,at the same time that every student learns the fundamental skills of swimming and water safety.

aquaDucks | Swimming Programmes - Parent & Child Programme

Parent & Child

Your child will enjoy our Parent & Child programme, where he or she learns to build confidence in the water through songs and games. It is a parent-accompanied programme, which focuses on parent-and-child bonding, unconditional love and repetition within the comfort zone of the child. Emphasis will be on enjoyment in the water and learning through play, where babies and kids can learn to be skilful and safe in and around the water.

Submersion and personal survival skills are also practiced when your child displays his or her readiness. The main aim of this programme is for every child to be happy, ‘free’ and safe in the water.

The key role of the parent’s participation in the programme is to be the personal coach under the professional guidance of our friendly and experienced swim coaches.

AquaFit

8 benefits of aquaFit

Working out in the water is one of the most therapeutic activities one can take part in. One lesson of aquaFit with aquaDucks burns 350-400 calories. AquaFit builds cardio, strength and resistance while being easy on the joints and takes place in a cool and relaxing atmosphere! Here are the top eight benefits of aquaFit:

  1. Increases muscle strength
  2. Builds endurance
  3. Increases flexibility – as the body is subject to water resistance during aqua-aerobic exercise, the joints naturally increase their range of motion
  4. It’s a low-impact exercise
  5. Alleviates pressure on the joints
  6. Increases relaxation and positive energy
  7. Burns calories – the combination of strength and cardio workouts mixed with water resistance during aquatic exercise ensures the body is getting a full workout. Depending on cardio activity, weight, water temperature, volume and buoyancy, the body can burn between 400 and 500 calories during an hour of exercise
  8. Cooling exercise – as temperatures rise and humidity draws near, exercising in the burning sun may suddenly not seem so appealing. AquaFit is a cool, crisp and refreshing way to exercise, and you won’t be struggling in the heat!

  • Reduces blood pressure – water resistance is not just a buoyancy feature to help work the muscles. In fact, the water pressure actually works with your blood as well and enables blood flow to circulate more effectively throughout the body, effectively decreasing blood pressure and, in the long run, lowering resting heart rate
  • Cooling exercise – as temperatures rise and humidity draws near, exercising in the burning sun may suddenly not seem so appealing. AquaFit is a cool, crisp and refreshing way to exercise, and you won’t be struggling in the heat!
